Calverton Calling
About the project
“Calverton Calling” is a community-led heritage and Creative Health project that’s transforming a village telephone box into an interactive listening station - a space for stories, sound and connection.
Through oral history workshops, intergenerational stained-glass art sessions, and soundscape creation, the project celebrates local stories while supporting connection, creativity, wellbeing and dementia-friendly engagement.
By blending heritage, creativity, and health, Calverton Calling strengthens local identity, revives traditional craft skills, and creates inclusive opportunities for people of all ages to explore and share their community’s story.
Our
approach
We believe in creativity to enhance quality of life for people receiving palliative care, particularly those living with dementia. Our programmes use arts-based approaches to foster connection, improve wellbeing, and support both individuals and their caregivers during this stage of life.
