Calverton Calling

Recording the voices and memories of a community

about the programme

Calverton Calling is a community oral history project rooted in Calverton, Nottinghamshire, a former mining village with a rich and largely unrecorded history. Working with older residents, we're capturing the stories, memories, and voices of people who have lived through Calverton's transformation over decades.

These are stories that matter. As communities like Calverton change, the lived experience of the people who built them risks being lost. Oral history is how we make sure that doesn't happen.

This page is growing as the project unfolds. Come back to find oral histories, photographs, and stories from the people of Calverton.
