Words of Cayr is a creative wellbeing project for people in Wales living with and beyond cancer.
Everything you need to take part is posted directly to your door, so you can be part of the project wherever you are in the country.
Each box contains everything needed to create a word through an art activity & a self-guided poetry workbook. The activity centres on a hand-sewn word: a textile piece made stitch by stitch that is yours to keep.

We will be sending out the kits in September and October.
There will be updates sent out via email before then so keep an eye out in your inbox for updates and info!
-
The kits include everything you need to stitch your word, creating a made object that is yours to keep. We will be using linen and silk organza and a video tutorial by artist Emily Jo Gibb’s will lead you through the process.
The self-guided poetry workbook included in the kit will lead you through a series of activities designed to help you create your own poems, inspired by your chosen word and your journey.
Both of these activities can be completed at home in your own time.
-
When you have written your poems and stitched your word, your art is yours to keep.
We are developing collaborative art projects which you can contribute to with your poetry and textile art. If you would like to do so, you can send in some of your writing via email and send in photos of your sewn word. More details on this will be sent out soon.
